After twenty-five years in production management and training & development, I was burned out and didn’t know it. In the late 90’s when I traveled to visit my sister, Karen, and my mother, Faye, I just wanted to learn more about how they earned a living and gain the basic skill of sewing. I not only took to the skill, I loved it.
Here are Karen and Faye, my sister and mother, best friends, and my mentors.
When I returned home after my two-week “intensive”, a friend asked me to sew slipcovers for two chairs in her office. The place from where she had purchased the fabric began to refer people to me. Within a year, I was able to leave my position at Seattle University and support myself. All of my past training (enrollment, time management, team-building, production management, creative thinking) have served me well. Through sewing, I have gained real freedom!
If you can imagine it, I can create it. I am happy to make suggestions and give my opinion! Typically, my clients choose and provide their own fabric and design. I can help with suggestion and yardage needed. Browse through my photos to see the beauty in the details.
Part of my home has been converted into a workshop with a large work table, two industrial sewing machines and a blind-stitcher. I operate within an 9 to 5 framework and schedule visits on an appointment basis.
Sewing includes custom-fitted slipcovers, window treatments, bedding and light upholstery. Fabrication includes cornices, bed crowns, padded headboards, walls and ceilings.
I schedule appointments to measure for window treatments and for cutting and pinning custom-fitted slipcovers at your location.
Since my workshop is in my home, appointments are on a scheduled basis. Please call with any questions!
